Beggin’ guitar song sheet
Sources & musical analysis

Måneskin studio cover on Chosen (2017); original Four Seasons single (1967); guitar practice adaptation informed by the supplied clip

Måneskin’s 2017 Beggin cover in B minor, with a timed, pickup-first 0–1→Bm intro cell and credit to the Four Seasons 1967 original.

Research record Collected while preparing this sheet

Compared the supplied Bm still with Cifra Club and E-Chords intro tabs, Songsterr’s counted guitar bars 6–8, Modern Guitar Tuition’s engraved intro rhythm, original-version analysis, and release metadata. The featured cell rotates the source barline one beat so the requested 0–1 walk-up comes first; A-string fret 2 is the root of the first Bm strum. Four sounding Bm hits and two muted strokes follow in the source-derived relative rhythm. The full recording and supplied clip audio were not auditioned.

Recording independently checked: No.

Passage fidelity

Main cycle · verse / refrain · Practice adaptation

Preserved: The Måneskin cover-style Bm–G–C#m–F# guitar verse movement, with F#7 as a dominant color.

Changed: Compared with the Four Seasons chart, C#m raises G to G#; one practice bar per chord and a short backbeat are chosen for playability.

Checked: Compared independent B-minor charts, checked the x46654 pitches against standard tuning and Voicing Omega, and validated four quarter-note units per bar.

harmony evidence · timing evidence

opening-walkup · Practice adaptation

Preserved: A-string 0–1 chromatic pickup into the A-string 2 root and full Bm x24432 grip, followed by four sounding Bm strums and two muted attacks in a repeating one-bar cell.

Changed: The one-bar cell begins at the pickup, rotating the barline one beat before Songsterr’s downbeat so the requested walk-up reads first. The full opening, vocal ad-lib and exact recording performance are not transcribed.

Checked: Read Songsterr intro bars 6–8 with stems, beams and barlines; compared Cifra Club, E-Chords and Modern Guitar Tuition notation. Counted four Bm sounds, two mutes and two pickup eighths; checked source-barline rotation and Bm fret pitches. No recording audio audition.

pitches evidence · timing evidence

Bridge color · Practice adaptation

Preserved: The contrast begins with the transposed Bm7–E move and returns through the F#7 dominant.

Changed: Bm7 and E keep the original song’s contrast; E uses a closed middle-register x7645x practice grip for clipped strokes, C#m follows the selected cover-style guitar harmony, and each chord lasts one practice bar.

Checked: Compared original-key and B-minor charts, inspected Songsterr's transposed E alternatives, and checked the x7645x and C#m pitches in standard tuning; exact bridge timing was not verified.

Harmonic interpretation

Meter, duration & feel Harmonic interpretation

The cover is about 133–134 quarter-note BPM in 4/4. The featured intro uses counted relative onsets from the Songsterr tab, rotated to begin at the pickup; ×4 is a practice loop. Main-cycle bar lengths and backbeat remain suggested timing. [13] [14] [9] [15] [16]

Choosing material for a looper Playing suggestion

The four-chord cycle ends on F#7, whose A# leads back to Bm; it makes one self-contained repeatable backing segment. [9] [10]

Improvisation choices Playing suggestion

Suggest B natural minor B C# D E F# G A over Bm and G; use G# over C#m and bridge E, then A# over F#7 before returning to Bm. [9] [10]

Cross-checks & arrangement decisions

Recording key versus screenshot key. Måneskin cover and screenshot are in B minor. The Four Seasons original is D minor, referenced separately rather than treated as this sheet’s recording key. [13] [14] [2]

Third chord quality. The original-key chart has Em7b5, transposing to C#m7b5. The selected B-minor guitar charts use C#m; this sheet follows that later guitar adaptation. [1] [9] [10]

Intro timing. Songsterr counts the Bm hits and final-beat A-string 0–1; Cifra and E-Chords agree on repeated Bm strums and the walk-up. This one-bar cell starts at the pickup, one beat before the source barline. [15] [16] [4] [9]

Bridge third-chord quality. Original-key charts differ between Em7b5 and Em7. This B-minor bridge is an adapted practice passage and uses C#m as requested, matching later B-minor guitar charts. [1] [7] [10]

Recording chronology. Måneskin recorded the cover in 2017; The Four Seasons single dates to 1967. The sheet names both artist and year. [11] [12]

Cover tempo. Sources estimate 133 and 134 BPM for Måneskin. Display approximately 134 quarter notes per minute; practice bar timing is separate. [13] [14]

Limits of this edition

  • Neither the supplied video audio nor Måneskin’s studio recording was auditioned.
  • The intro cell rotates Songsterr's barline to begin at the pickup. Its pre-intro BPM differs from the cover estimate, so only relative note spacing is used; audio was not checked.
  • One chord per bar and the strumming strip are suggested practice timing.
  • Other characteristic fills were researched but omitted because no complete B-minor phrase with reliable timing was verified.
  • C#m is drawn from later B-minor guitar charts; it changes the original Four Seasons half-diminished third chord by raising G to G#.
  • The 2018 Måneskin portrait illustrates the artist; it does not depict the 2017 recording session.
